Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traveling Roofing Superintendent to oversee commercial and metal roofing projects. The ideal candidate will manage on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires travel to various job sites, where you will lead a team and coordinate with subcontractors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of roofing projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Lead and manage on-site teams, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of tasks.
- Review and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate project implementation.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality control, and adherence to project timelines.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, managing schedules and ensuring timely delivery of materials and resources.
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets, tracking project expenses and providing updates to management.
- Implement and uphold EM-385 safety standards and protocols across all job sites.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the course of the project.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, safety records, and quality assurance reports.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Roofing Superintendent or similar role in commercial and metal roofing projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with metal roofing systems and installation techniques.
- Experience with scheduling, cost estimation, and quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Demonstrated team leadership capabilities and effective communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively to various job sites as required.
- Knowledge of federal construction regulations and standards, including USACE and NAVFAC guidelines.
